Plastic has many unique properties. For society, the plastic material is more important than many are aware of. We surround ourselves all the time with plastic. It is used for everything from mobiles to water pipes.
One of the reasons plastic is widely used is because it has a low weight relative to strength. This makes it possible to make products that are much lighter than would otherwise be possible, and it helps to make the transport of products in large numbers easy. The plastic material is also very flexible and easy to shape, which provides many opportunities for unique product design.
Plastic is a durable and durable material and can therefore help ensure that your products have a long shelf life. In addition, it requires little maintenance compared to wood and metals.
Plastic can also be a good electrical insulator, making it an important material for applications in electrical and electronics. There is also not much danger that plastic will catch fire, while plastic provides resistance to moisture.
The production of plastics is a climate-friendly solution compared to metals. It takes energy equivalent to 1 kg of oil to produce 1 kg of plastic, but it takes 5 times as much energy to produce 1 kg of steel and the energy consumption of producing aluminium is 15 times as high.
The use of plastic in disposable products has given plastic a bad reputation. However, the many unique properties make it clearly worth considering the use of plastic in new products, or replacing the use of metals with plastics. Plastic allows a product to be used multiple times, recycled and material or energy recovered at the end of its life.
Since 1999 we have been producing high quality plastic products. Our factory is located in Porsgrunn, and consists of eight casting machines. We can efficiently produce products where multiple materials are included with our 3-component machine.
We have the technology and expertise you need to produce products for the industry. Our team is a material expert and has extensive experience in choosing the right material to get the expected properties in a finished product. We are concerned with quality assurance of the product and know what parameters to examine to detect any quality deviations. We have particular expertise in what is required for the products to be produced in large volumes at the right price and quality. We are therefore an important partner for our customers!
Mezonic AS consists of Grepi Plast and Pavels Innovation. Grepi Plast is our manufacturing factory and our centre of expertise in material technology. Pavels Innovation is a dedicated company for multidisplin product development, prototypes and industrial design. We also work closely with manufacturers in Denmark and Asia, and, if necessary, bring in additional expertise, capacity and suitable machines.
