Here at ProtoFAB, we print mostly mechanical parts, components and prototypes, but right now we are doing something quite different. We have received an order for 30 small Ibsen figures that Telemark County Museum sells as souvenirs!
The figurines are being printed in one of our SLA600 Machines here in Porsgrunn. Now you might ask, how does one of these printers work? The simple answer is that the 3D-model is divided into hundreds and sometimes thousands of thin layers which is built layer by layer onto each other. The more in-depth technical answer includes resin baths, lasers and mechatronics. Recently we also gained the possibility of printing flexible parts, similar to silicone.
